When buying or selling a property you may be guided by an estate agent to use one of their preferred panel firms. It may be the case that a particular solicitor is recommended to you simply because a referral fee is paid to the introducer. In our view, referrals which are driven by payment of a commercial incentive do restrict your freedom of choice and may not be in your best interests. Please do appreciate that you have no obligation to use the services of an introducers’ preferred solicitor. You are free to instruct a solicitors firm of your own choosing.
