Residential Conveyancing Costs

Halsalls is committed to providing upfront and transparent cost information.

We distinguish ourselves from the majority of firms who undertake residential conveyancing work by ensuring that your case is handled by one of our Partners or Solicitors, who have over 100 years’ worth of combined experience.

Conveyancing will, invariably, be the most expensive financial transaction you may be involved in during your lifetime and we believe it is important for you to receive legal advice and assistance from a Partner or Solicitor who possess the required academic background, professional qualifications and practical experience. Details of our Partners and Solicitors credentials and experience are located on this website.

When buying or selling a property you may be guided by an estate agent to use one of their preferred panel firms. It may be the case that a particular solicitor is recommended to you simply because a referral fee is paid to the introducer. In our view, referrals which are driven by payment of a commercial incentive do restrict your freedom of choice and may not be in your best interests. Please do appreciate that you have no obligation to use the services of an introducers’ preferred solicitor. You are free to instruct a solicitors firm of your own choosing.

We do not pay referral fees to third party introducers, as we are of the opinion that receiving the highest levels of service and first-rate legal advice is more important than a recommendation based on payment of a fee. As we do not involve ourselves in such arrangements, we offer you an independent and impartial service which has your best interests at the forefront of our professional relationship with you.
